More About Me
I
have a very varied background in a range of commercial and academic
disciplines. Relating to homeopathy what is relevant is a longstanding
interest in natural health, fitness and sport.
I
studied for a BSc in agriculture where my specialization was in Ecology
– (direct Greek translation is ‘the study of household management’ )–
there are links to the management of the individual’s life here as well.
Although
not clear at that time, my study of the great kingdoms of the natural
world: - mineral (chemistry and physics), plant- (Botany) and animal-
(Zoology) have become tremendously useful in practice of Depth
Homeopathy. We see the correspondence between the material natural
world and the energetic effects of well chosen homeopathic remedies.
My homeopathic registration is via the qualification of Masters of Homeopathy from the Durban University of Technology (DUT).
In
2004 I spent a 1 month in India where we took part in an intensive
programme on the theory and practice of the new paradigm in homeopathy
– generally called the ‘Sankaran Sensation method’.
I
enjoy teaching these new approaches in homeopathy and have done some
guest lecturing at DUT, as well as organizing seminars and ongoing
training for established practitioners and senior students.
A
long time interest of mine is in the men’s movement drawing on the work
of Robert Bly, Michael Meade and James Hillman. Over the last 20 years
I have participated in a number of self-help men’s groups. I have found
the experience to be very rewarding.
At
my previous practice (‘The Healing Movement Centre’) there is a
wonderful synergy between homeopathic treatment and
Network/Cranio-Sacral therapy.
Both
systems share the need to work with the core or essence of the patient
to effect deep, sustained healing. Thus I suggest that patients make
use of these complementary services.
Besides
homeopathy, the warm Indian Ocean around Durban, offers me the after
hour pursuits of sailing, surfing (stand up paddle board), and more latterly
kayaking the Surf – Ski offshore which I love. |
